Echojong
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 September 2026
Echojong is a memory game where tiles match by sound. This policy explains the
little data the game touches. It applies to the Android app (package
app.echojong.android) and to echojong-xi.vercel.app.
What we collect
Echojong has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no microphone access. The game runs entirely on your device and works offline. The optional leaderboard is the one feature that talks to a server, and only when you choose to post a score.
- Best scores, Echoes and settings. Your best score per world and difficulty, the world you last played, which sounds the app last drew for each world, your Echoes balance, the tile backs and worlds you have earned with it, and the tile back you equipped are stored locally on your device. They never leave it, and they are lost if you clear the app's data or uninstall.
- Leaderboard (optional). After clearing a board you can post a nickname you type. We then store that nickname together with your score, flip count, time, world, difficulty, and a random identifier the app created for your install so you can see and remove your own entries. Those entries are shown to every other player on the leaderboard. Nothing else is sent: no account, no email address, no contacts, no location. Please choose a nickname that is not your real name.
- Abuse limits. When a score is posted, the leaderboard service records a one-way scrambled form of the network address the request came from, purely to count how many posts arrive from the same place in an hour and refuse floods. The address itself is never stored, the scrambled form is never attached to your nickname or your entries, and these counts are deleted after a day.
- Purchase status (Android only). If you buy the "All Worlds" unlock, Google Play processes the payment and our purchase provider, RevenueCat, records that the unlock belongs to an anonymous app identifier so it can be restored on reinstall. RevenueCat receives that identifier, the purchase token, your device model and OS version, and your country. It does not receive your name, email address or payment details.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, or audio. The web version at echojong-xi.vercel.app stores nothing beyond the local scores above and any leaderboard entries you post.
Who we share it with
We do not sell data. The only parties that touch any of it are the providers that make purchases and the leaderboard work:
- Google Play — handles payment and receipts for the unlock. See policies.google.com/privacy.
- RevenueCat — validates and remembers the unlock on our behalf. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
- Vercel — hosts the website and the leaderboard service. Standard server logs may include your IP address for a short period. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Neon — hosts the leaderboard database (United States). It holds the leaderboard entries described above, and the short-lived abuse counts. See neon.com/privacy-policy.
How long we keep it
Scores and settings stay on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall. Purchase records are retained by RevenueCat for as long as the app exists, because they are what lets you restore the unlock later. You can ask for the RevenueCat record to be deleted at any time. Leaderboard entries stay on the board until you remove them with the "Remove my scores" button on the leaderboard screen, or ask us to; see how to delete your data.
Children
Echojong is suitable for all ages and asks for no personal information. The leaderboard nickname is free text, so please do not enter a real name. Purchases require a Google account and Google Play's own controls apply.
